IN THE BEGINNING

Recorded live in a single session in August 2026, "In the Beginning" is the debut EP from The Poppies, featuring three original songs written by Madison Deleone.

Captured at the Island Day School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, the recordings embrace the raw, unfiltered character of musicians playing together in the moment. Blending elements of blues, folk, country, and soul, the EP offers an intimate introduction to the band’s sound and songwriting.

The Songs

01. Felt Like Rain

A stripped-down acoustic ballad featuring only Madison and Julia. With minimal instrumentation, the song offers a raw, intimate glimpse into the heart of The Poppies’ sound.

02.  Cold Hard Truth

A groove-driven minor-key blues number featuring the full band, bringing a darker, grittier energy to the collection.

03. Tomorrows

An upbeat country-blues tune featuring the full band, closing the EP with a lively, spirited feel.
